Clubs & Opportunities for Students: Encourage your child to join!

Students in grades 2nd through 5th have the opportunity to join a variety of clubs at MC26!  Along with our clubs--especially our marching unit, we are looking for parents to join and sponsor our Marching Unit Parent Chaperone Squad and Booster Club. We also need a dedicated few to help us will our PTO!  Come help us "Sail the 7  Seas to Success!"

Students must maintain a GPA of 2.0 in order to remain a part of any team, club, or organization.  This is per JPPSS Parish Policy. 

Students in Grades 2nd-5th

 

• The Girls of Distinction--A community service and social club for students with guest speakers and field trip experiences--sponsored by Ms. Shields and Ms. Wilson-Leary 
• The Elite Gentlemen on MC26--A community service and social club for students with guest speakers and field trip experiences--sponsored by Mr. Sean Smith and Mr. Adrian. 
• Art Club--students can learn and develop their art skills--sponsored by TBD
• The MC26 Morning Show Krewe--our krewe that brings the morning news to the school via Google Meet every day and contributes to the school news show as reporters--sponsored by Ms. Ricky, Mrs. Bush, Mrs. Wilson-Leary, Mrs. Kelley Toups, and Mrs. Scott-Hamilton. 
• 3D Printing Club--students will learn how to create awesome projects and items, learning, programming, and using our 3D prienters and software--sponsored by Mrs. Shelia Jackson-Scott

Students in Grades 3rd-5th 

• Lady Eagles Cheer Squad--MC26's Cheerleading Squad--sponsored by Ms. Raquel Davis and Mrs. Sharmaine Sincere
• Library Club--students assist our Librarian and learn how Library Science works--sponsored by Mrs. Cambre
• Flag Football Team--sponsored by Coach Hampton

 

• Beautification Squad--assists our custodians with keeping our campus clean--sponsored by Ms. Nicole
• FedEx Kinkos Delivery Squad--makes deliveries to teachers and staff (during their P.E. period)--sponsored by Ms. Ricky, Ms. Collins, and Ms. Tina
• Science/ Garden Club--assists Mrs. Miller with science-related concepts, including planting, growing, and harvesting items--sponsored by Mrs. Miller
• Student Council--students develop leadership skills by running and serving  as an officer on the council--sponsored by TBA 

 

Students in 5th Grade Only

• Champion Program 3.0--every 5th grader is adopted by a staff member at the school for mentoring and support--sponsored by Ms. Tina 
• Champion Program 2.0--5th grade students adopt PK students to mentor and support--sponsored by Mrs. Carderara & Mrs. Sincere
• Ballroom Dancing Program--students in 5th grade learn ballroom dancing and compete at the end of the school year in a Master Performance at the Ponchartrain Center in Kenner--sponsored by TBA
• Fifth Grade Kick Ball Team--battles the teachers at the annual Field Day--sponsored by Coach Hampton
